These Composer Study courses introduce students ages 7 and up to significant composers and compositions across a variety of musical genres, traditions, and centuries, helping them build a deep and lasting relationship with music. Designed for both homeschool and classroom use in multi-age settings, lessons include extensions for older students with extra reading, discussion, and activities. Teacher tips, extra helpings, and exam questions are all included, and no extra resources are needed. Lessons are available by year and by term, and a free Vivaldi lesson plan is available to download today. The 2026-27 course (Rotation 3) immerses students in the 19th century through its composers, instruments, and musical performances. Term 1 explores influential instruments and instrument families, including valved brass, the saxophone, and the guitar, alongside the musicians who made them famous. Term 2 focuses on Norwegian Romantic composer Edvard Grieg, and Term 3 concludes the year with the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan and a student choice between two composers who transformed what they saw and heard into music: Modest Mussorgsky and Thomas "Blind Tom" Wiggins. This collection pairs well with History and Literature courses, geography, picture study, and handicrafts focused on History Rotation 3, making it easy to integrate across your full curriculum.

The multi-authored Charlotte Mason Centenary Monograph series is designed to highlight and explore the continuing educational and leadership relevance of Charlotte Mason (1842–1923) through the collective contributions of the Armitt Museum and Library, the University of Cumbria, the Charlotte Mason Institute, and other scholars and practitioners worldwide.
