High School Science courses offer multiple paths for students to engage with the scientific disciplines and the world around them. Each is designed to build knowledge, citizenship, and problem-solving skills through a complete Charlotte Mason approach. Core courses include Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, each with integrated labs that give students hands-on engagement with the scientific method. Elective options span a wide variety of disciplines, including Food Science, Introduction to Engineering, Botany, Advanced Nature Study, Geology, Astronomy, and Microbiology, with each course incorporating historical context, modern developments, and flexibility for personal needs and interests. Throughout high school, outdoor work is established as a lifelong habit through Nature Notebook and Nature Walks, with optional resources provided in science lessons and on the Alveary bookshelf. *Some of these courses are suitable for hungry 8th graders. The multi-authored Charlotte Mason Centenary Monograph series is designed to highlight and explore the continuing educational and leadership relevance of Charlotte Mason (1842–1923) through the collective contributions of the Armitt Museum and Library, the University of Cumbria, the Charlotte Mason Institute, and other scholars and practitioners worldwide.
