Alveary 2023-24
From The Alveary Team:
We have been encouraged by your positive response to the new Alveary lesson plan format. In the 2023-24 Alveary:
- Composition prompts are provided next to the corresponding lesson
- QR codes (which are also clickable links) are provided on each page to give quick access to any links needed for a lesson.
- Copywork and dictation prompts are included in their own lesson plan
- “How-to” pages from the Alveary Member Tutorial are in the lesson plan for easy reference.
- Most teacher guides are subsumed into the lesson plans, streamlining your day, and teacher tips and notes are included with the lessons.
For younger students:
- Reading lessons include more phonics help to reflect current research on how children learn to read
For older students:
- Science lab books include more step-by-step instructions
Other subject-specific changes:
- Art Instruction includes more projects, as well as transitional lessons to help you fast-track to the appropriate level
- Geography lessons for Grades 4-8 correlate with the historical time period studied, and cartography lessons are included
- Additional background information and teaching tips provided for Shakespeare and Plutarch courses
You’ll notice links both for Amazon and for booksellers like Christian Book Distributors and Bookshop.org in the programs. (Your Bookshop.org purchases will benefit the local bookstore you select, while also giving a small percentage back to Alveary.) Links to free copies will still be provided, where available.
Finally, keep an eye out for exciting news on optional video lessons you can add on to your membership that support our modern language courses and Cambridge Latin, Unit 1.

3. 2023-24 Alveary: Like most non-profits, we've incurred cost increases this year that will result in a change in the membership rate for next year. Alveary membership for 2023-24 will be $299. (Co-op members still receive a $50 discount.) Thank you for your understanding.
