Empty Tomb

As you remember Good Friday and celebrate Easter Sunday this weekend, we would like to offer you some words of encouragement from Charlotte Mason’s Easter Day Meditations from 1921. Miss Mason would give these Sunday talks centered around Scripture passages to her House of Education students. These talks were also published in the “Parents’ Review” and are more recently available as a book.

In this particular section, Miss Mason was commenting on John 11:25 which states, “Jesus said to her, ‘ I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’” Miss Mason said, “ When we fail, when we are unhappy, when things go wrong, let us not fear, there is always the Resurrection. When our hearts are sick and sad, when we think no one can help; when we see the image of the earthly in evil action, in evil presence, let us remember there is a resurrection coming, always coming. We may not live to see it, but the peace of God will come” (Scale How Meditations, p. 225).

Query

Latin: I am very excited about the Latin online course and want to clarify that we need not start our first week of Latin the first week that videos are posted. Is that correct?

Thank you for asking about the new online Alveary Latin course taught by Magistra Reed and available exclusively to Alveary members. You are correct that you do not have to start the course as soon as the videos are released. You will have one year of access from the first time you login to the course platform. Login information will be sent on August 1st.

We hope you have a wonderful celebration this Easter weekend remembering the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  He is risen!
