Sleeper Hits?

My family just finished our Alveary year, and in reflection, this was probably our most challenging year of homeschooling to date. I had to make adjustments to our schedule several times to accommodate urgent family needs, flexing both hours of school and what subjects we could cover in the time we had available. We often leaned on Ecclesiastes 3 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens...”
Thanks to the advice of wise mentors in my first years of homeschooling, I no longer stress if we need to cut a course that term or even that year, as I know there will be other terms and years (or outside opportunities like clubs and co-ops) to include that subject or those skills. We are running a marathon, not a sprint, in other words.

In today’s Fabulous Friday post, tell us about a subject that was a “sleeper hit” with your students (or with you!). After all, the subject we are tempted to omit may be the one with which our students make a lifetime connection!
