Dictation?

We hope you are excited about the new Copywork and Dictation booklets for Grades 4-8. Please take the time to read the how-to page and instructions that can be found in the language lesson plans. I want to reiterate some updates to the instructions that we have made in order to better align our practices with Mason’s methods.
In the past, dictation was usually done by preparing a passage for two days and then dictating a part of the passage on the third day. However, as we reread Mason’s writings, she instructs us to complete a full cycle of studying and dictating a passage in one lesson. So, each of the three lessons will have new words and sections to learn.
There won’t be so much for the student to retain since they will be learning 4-6 new words during the study time and then writing a selected passage all in the 15-minute time frame. We hope this will benefit your students in a positive way!
Notes
1. 2022-23 Membership: June 30 is the final day of access for 2022-23 memberships. Please plan ahead and download any Alveary documents you need. External links (Vimeo, SoundCloud, Quizlet, etc.) will remain live.

4. Alveary Bookshelf: Have you taken a look at the bookshelf yet? You’ll find extra free-reads for all ages and subjects, many of which correspond to the year’s time period. If you have a favorite book we should add, suggest it using the new suggestion form.
