Fully Filled
From Cindy Swicegood, Alveary Administrative Assistant
Last night after dinner out, my husband and I went to a sporting goods store and bought a basketball needle. Then we went home and he added air to my basketball. I was doing ok dribbling before, but I was working harder and much less efficiently than I could have. Wow! What a difference! It is so much easier for me to dribble now that my ball is properly filled!
Have you ever tried to dribble a basketball that doesn’t have enough air in it? Consider your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. How often do we try to limp along in our daily lives–whether homeschooling or just living–with “equipment” that is inadequate or in disrepair? Consider your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. We all know you can’t pour out if you’re not filled up yourself. But what will we do about this? I would challenge you to consider this question: What is one thing–one habit, one discipline, one hobby–that would help you be more fully filled so that you can better love and serve your students? (Personally, I often have to begin by emptying so that there is room–in my heart, mind, and calendar!--for this better filling.) Please let us know in the comments of this Hive post!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. –Romans 15:13

Queries
Bible Resource (Grades 2-6): The page numbers in my Cultural Background Study Bible are different from the ones in the Bible lesson plans. Do I have the wrong edition?
There are multiple editions of the Cultural Background Study Bible. You are free to use the translation you prefer or find the one that fits your price point. The articles that we recommend for teachers to read as preparation for the lesson can easily be found in or near the chapter of the Bible you are reading even if it does not align with the page numbers in the lesson plans. If you are asked to look at a map, you can use the table of contents to find the name of the map and the correct page number for your edition.
Have a great weekend!
